Message from Pat Smith, Board Chair

Pat Smith, Board Chair

Over the past 10 years, I’ve witnessed the success, growth, and impact that has been made through Serve Denton’s collaborations. Through this partnership, both nonprofits and community members are flourishing because finding help and getting necessary resources in one location has become easier than ever.

Because of Serve Denton, Denton is a stronger and healthier community than it was a decade ago. So when it came to making an even stronger Denton County, initiating Serve Lewisville was a no-brainer.

Here’s what we know:

The town and community of Lewisville collectively have many strengths, making it ripe for a nonprofit center.

The driving strengths which will be the foundation of the Serve Lewisville Center include:

  • Diversity of culture

  • Collaboration of different agencies

  • Commitment from city leadership

  • Powerful faith communities

  • Great educational system

We plan to harness the power of these strengths to target 5 main areas of need within the Lewisville community:

  1. Healthcare

  2. Mental health

  3. Rental and utility assistance

  4. Affordable childcare

  5. Food

After all, a nonprofit center can only be successful if it’s supported by a tight-knit and determined community of people wanting to help. And Lewisville has an abundance of people seeking to do good and come alongside people in need.

Our mission is simple: to partner with the Lewisville community to help more people in need.

Our vision in executing the Serve Lewisville Center is to create a nonprofit center that enables Lewisville to double its capacity to meet the community's critical needs in the next five years.

But we’re not just building a center–we’re building a framework of collaboration to help strengthen relationships between nonprofits, churches, and civic organizations to ultimately serve the Lewisville community members.
